About CallLegend

Built for the People Doing the Work

CallLegend is an AI answering service for home service contractors. It picks up every call to your business, gets the job details, and texts them to you — so the job doesn't go to whoever answered first.

Why this exists

Missed calls lose jobs. Period.

If you work in the trades, you already know how this goes. You're under a sink, up a ladder, or in a crawl space, and the phone rings. You can't answer it. The homeowner doesn't leave a voicemail — they call the next contractor on Google. By the time you check your phone, the job is gone and you never even knew it existed.

Industry research says about 27% of calls to home service businesses go unanswered. That's one out of every four jobs ringing out, quietly, week after week. Most contractor software is built by people who've never worked a job in the trades — they build features for the person behind a desk, not the person on the roof at 6:30 PM when the phone rings.

We're not trying to replace contractors. We're trying to give them back time — time with their families, time on the jobs that matter, time to grow the business instead of just surviving it.

How it works

Three steps. No new equipment. Nothing to learn.

1

It answers

Every call to your business gets picked up in two rings, 24 hours a day. Heat wave, holiday weekend, 2 AM burst pipe — it answers, introduces itself as your assistant, and talks to the customer like a person.

2

It captures

It gets the things you actually need: who's calling, what's broken, where they live, and how urgent it is. Emergencies get flagged. Tire-kickers get handled politely.

3

It texts you

Seconds after the call ends, you get a clean text summary — name, number, job, address. You call back when you're off the ladder. No app, no portal, no password. Your leads show up where your texts do.

HVAC Estimate Request — actual call flow, anonymized

Customer: "Hi, yeah I need an estimate for a new air conditioner. Ours died last week and it's getting hot."
Sierra: "Got it — happy to help with that. First, can I get your name and best number to reach you?"
Customer: "Sure — Mike Chen. 440-555-0182."
Sierra: "Thanks, Mike. What's the address for the install?"
Customer: "7421 Brookside Drive in Mentor."
Sierra: "For a standard central AC replacement in that area, most installs run between $5,500 and $7,500 depending on tonnage and line set work. I can get you on the schedule for a free in-home estimate — does Thursday afternoon work?"
Customer: "Yeah, Thursday at 2 works."
Sierra: "You're all set for Thursday at 2 PM. You'll get a confirmation text shortly."

Result: Appointment booked. Lead text sent to owner within 60 seconds.

Who built it

Dave Acevedo. Northeast Ohio.

Dave Acevedo — Founder, CallLegend · U.S. Air Force Veteran · Northeast Ohio

Hi, I'm Dave Acevedo.

I'm a Northeast Ohio guy with a pretty simple goal these days: put what I've learned to work for the people and businesses around me.

I started out serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, then spent close to three decades building and running large technology programs for companies you'd recognize — banks, insurers, manufacturers. I led big teams and delivered billions of dollars in projects, and along the way I learned how the best organizations actually get things done.

What I care about most now is closer to home. So I build practical tools and help local businesses use them — not the hype version of technology, the kind that quietly saves time, brings in revenue, and keeps money working in our own community.

I'm not here to sound impressive. I'm here to help. If you've got a problem worth solving, or you just want a straight answer from someone who's been doing this a long time, reach out — I'd be glad to talk.

The research behind it

We didn't make these numbers up.

CallLegend exists because the research on missed calls is brutal. These are named studies — the same ones we cite on every page.
