Finding the Agent Editor

Log into app.calllegend.com. In the left sidebar, click Agents. Select your agent. Click the Edit button in the top right. All customization happens here.

Changing Your Business Name in the Greeting

In the agent editor, find the Greeting field. This is the first thing callers hear. Update it with your exact business name. Keep it short — your business name, trade, and city. Then let the AI take over with questions.

Setting Your Service Area

Under Service Area, enter your city, county, or region. Be specific. If you only work in Lake County, say "Lake County, Ohio." If you serve Northeast Ohio, say "Northeast Ohio." The AI will use this when qualifying callers — anyone outside your area gets a polite "we don't service that area" response.

Adding the Services You Offer

Under Services, list every service you provide — the more specific, the better. "Emergency plumbing repair," "water heater installation," "drain cleaning" — not just "plumbing." This is how your AI qualifies callers correctly and knows what questions to ask.

Updating Your Booking Availability

Connect your Google Calendar (see Connecting Google Calendar) and your AI will check real-time availability before offering slots. If you haven't connected a calendar yet, you can set general availability windows — "Mon–Fri 7am–5pm, Saturdays by request" — and the AI will quote those times to callers.

Tone Settings

Under Tone, choose between:

  • Professional — formal, efficient, gets to the point fast
  • Friendly — warm, conversational, builds rapport

Most contractors in the trades prefer Professional. Home remodelers and designers often prefer Friendly. You can change this anytime and it takes effect on the next call.

Testing Before You Go Live

After making changes, click Save then Test Agent. This lets you call your AI from within the dashboard and hear exactly what a customer hears. Make a test call. Listen to the greeting. Make sure your business name and services sound right.

💡 What Makes a Great Greeting

Short. Clear. Business name first. Immediate offer to help.

Example: "Thanks for calling [Business Name], your local [trade] in [city]. I'm here to help — are you looking to schedule a service or get a quick quote?"

That's it. Don't ramble. The AI takes over from there.
